Favorite Alphabet Stickers + a Give-Away!

{Reported by Layle Koncar}

OK, I’ll be the first to admit it, I’m addicted. To alphabet stickers. Oh sure, there could be far worse things to be addicted to! Have you ever seen an episode of Intervention on A&E? YIKES! Like I said, it could be worse.

I have hundreds....of letter stickers. If you counted every letter, they’d be in the thousands. Tens of thousands. I just love all of the possibilities with alphabet stickers. I can’t walk past an alphabet sticker without throwing them in my basket. The scrapbook store – check. Online shopping – check. The office supply store – check. The grocery store – check. Heck, even the dollar store, and they’re in my basket.

I’m a title gal. And a journaling gal. Every one of my layouts has a title. I can’t make one without. And most of them are made with alphabet stickers. For the most part, they’re cheap. And I like that. When you factor the price per sticker, they’re just about free!

Two of my hands down favorite letter sticker sets are made by Heidi Swapp and Making Memories. I'll show you just why I love these sets and what I created with them.

Heidi Swapp
I was in mourning for a while. Like most of you out there (you know who you are!), I’m a hoarder. I hoard things. I buy them and then don’t use them because I’m afraid I’ll run out. That was the case with Heidi Swapp’s black and white Block Alphabet stickers.

Confession time. Once I realized they were being discontinued back in 2007, I searched for hours online until I found them. And guess what, I bought 10 packs! Heh. I’ll NEVER run out, I figured. And then panic set in. What will I do when they’re all gone? Anyone with me?

So I was thrilled beyond belief when I learned that they were being re-introduced. YEEHAH! I knew it. I knew I wasn’t the only one out there mourning the retirement of these babies! As of March 1, 2009 they began shipping again. Hallelujah!

What I Like:
- The size - big enough to use for titles
- The simple, clean font
- The number - there are 256 stickers in a package with plenty of commonly used letters that I tend to always run out of!

What I Don't Like:
- Every once in a while the sticker won't peel off the backer sheet
- They're only available in black and white.
What I Made With It:

Supplies- October Afternoon Norms New's Hometown paper, Heidi Swapp Block Alphabet Stickers, Scenic Route Red Berkely Chipboard, Bazzill Basics Kraft cardstock, assorted word stickers, vintage buttons.

Where and How Much:
Product Name: Heidi Swapp Black and White Alphabet Stickers
MSRP: $4.25
Available at: http://www.scrapbook.com/ (coming soon!), http://www.amillionmemories.com/ (coming soon!), http://www.pawsonscrapbooking.com/

Making Memories
My other favorite alphabet stickers are the Making Memories Tiny Black Stickers.

These puppies have been a staple in my scrapbook stash since Making Memories first started making them. They're the perfect tiny size for journaling, card making, mini books - you name it!
What I Like:
- The quantity - 2 sheets with 468 stickers in each package
- The value - less than $.01 per sticker
- The options - they're available in 6 different colors
- The mixture of fonts - each letter has 4 different fonts

What I Don't Like:
- The ink is faint on some of the letters, making it hard to see the letter
- The stickers lose their tackiness when you try to reposition them
- The small size can make them difficult to position

What I Made With It:

Supplies: Paper Trunk Socialite Privileged paper, Making Memories Tiny Black Stickers, Scenic Route White Grid paper, Scenic Route Garland Alphabet Die Cuts, Hambly Studios Silver Mod Trees Rub-ons, Sassafras Lass Back to the Future Robotics paper, Red Tab Jenni Bowlin Stickers

Supplies: Making Memories Tiny Black Stickers, Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle Tree Top, Loss For Words, Serendipity, Vintage Yummy Monogram Stickers, Vintage Cluster Paper Whimsies, Happy Place Pal Around Chipboard Stickers, Scenic Route White Grid Background, Omaha Alphabet Stickers

Where and How Much:
Product Name: Making Memories Tiny Black Stickers
MSRP: $2.99
Available At: http://store.scrapbook.com/mm-30321.html, twopeasinabucket.com, thescrappygourmet.com*

What do YOU think: Any other alpha sticker lovers out there? Have you tried Heidi Swapp's black and white block stickers or the Making Memories Tiny Black stickers? If so, what do you think? If you haven't tried these, but have other favorite alpha stickers, what are they? I'd love to know!

Post your comment here by Noon PST tomorrow for a chance to win a fabulous prize pack of the Making Memories Paperie collection. .Don't miss out. This collection is cute, fresh and stylish.

I LOVE alphabet stickers. Those Heidi Swapp ones look like fun. I think I may just have to order a bunch. Any ideas on how to store them ... looking for new ideas :)

I like the American Thickers. Haven't tried the others yet though. I also like stamping my alphas.

I have never used the Heidi Swapp letters but they look great! ::adds that to LSS shopping list::
The MM stickers are great when you need to add a lot of letters in a small space. I have used them close together and with a little space between them for words. They also work great if you want to add a small word to an embellishment.
I am a big fan of the MM small Shimmer alphas, as well as, AdornIt's Tiny Creations. The plus side of the AdornIt's as opposed to the MM's is the fact that all of the letters are exactly the same instead of different fonts.
OHHHH I also love Jenny Bowlins chalkboard type letters. Makes a great addition to any "school" themed layout.
Great blog!!!!!! ::adding to my favorites now!::

Theresa said...

I also love alphabet stickers - I have loads of them. Even if I don't like the current color, I can always change that around with some ink or stamps or ...

I really like the possibilities of these MM tiny stickers - I'll have to order a set in each color. I like the "plain" stickers like this because they look good on any layout and they have unlimited possibilities for ways to use them. My favorite stickers are not necessarily any particular brand, but are usually something relatively generic and easy to use.

Storing stickers - I purchased some small plastic storage bins from Target, and have the long, rectangular sets standing upright in that bin. It sits on a shelf and I can quickly paw through them looking for what I need.

I have another plastic storage bin that I keep the sets in that don't "stand up" (those are usually small boxes of chipboard shapes, etc. - mostly not stickers.

Thanks for the review!

I'm not a sticker girl. Maybe I should be...
It's not that I don't like them, it's that they aren't a priority when I'm shopping with my little budget.
PLUS, I don't scrapbook, I mostly do cards...
I really like those tiny MM stickers. I can see the possibilities - maybe I'll have to go shopping :)

I too am a sticker junkie. I have more than I could ever use in a lifetime. I keep them organized by color, which is extremely helpful.

I love those tiny types by MM and use them all of the time. I haven't tried the HS ones. Honestly, her products just don't seem up to par. Rubons that don't rub off...chipboard that loses it stickiness, etc.

Linda E said...

I love Making Memories Tina Alphas too and I keep them in my crop bag at all times. Beautiful layouts! I was just wondering if you could make it so that readers can click on the images to get a closer view. I would love to read all of the journaling.

I love American Crafts Thickers. They come in so many fonts and colors. Love Them....

I am a total "thicker-a-holic"!!! However, I do love the letter stickers by Sassafras...they're just so much fun!

I love the thickers! But I also am a big fan of the Heidi Swapp stickers.

I'm addicted to alphabet stickers too! I like the Making Memories stickers and love Thickers and alphabet stickers by Doodlebug Designs.

Jaime said...

I love the thickers, but I really want to try the making memories stickers. I am like you, when I find something I like I keep buying, especially when they are sale.

jennie said...

Making Memories has really great glitter alphas that I love as much as the minis.
I have a TON of Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, but they lost their sticky long ago. And Thickers are also becoming a favorite.

Rebecca W said...

I love the glittery alpbabets from various places. I don't tend to use them a lot I generally use a computer for my journaling and diecut my titles but I really like the way you used them. I am going to have to work on using them more.

Cynthia B. said...

Ah, the MM tiny letters are awesome! Have them in different colors, and now they've come out w/ letters to match their different lines. I've never seen the Heidi stickers, how exciting that they're now available!
But of course I love AC Thickers - they "count" as alpha stickers, right? Just love love love the different textures and fonts they have - vinyl, foam, felt, chipboard. I have a couple of diecut machines for alphas, but darnit - I just can't resist the Thickers!

Brianna said...

I haven't tried the Heidi Swapp letters yet, I will have to order a pack. And I love those MM tiny letters! Love the small size!!

Elizabeth said...

I love letters stickers, my favorites are the thickers. I have to have them in all colors. I also use the MM tiny letters quite often. They work perfectly. :)

Joli said...

I have never used the Heidi Swapp ones, but I do love the MM tiny alpha and use them all the time. My absolute favorite alpha stickers are Pink Paislee Holly Doodle and Fashion Script. Rose Moka has some fun small alpha stickers that are similar to MM, but they are funky colors and some non-usable letters for me.

Kristine in WA said...

Im more of a thickers girl myself. All the colors, textures and fonts make me totally covet using them! Going to have to try the Heidi Swapp ones...I just love how you use them.

Jill said...

I bought stickers when I was getting started; didn't use much for titles. Seeing these samples makes me want to go back and re-think using them for other parts of the layout

Virginia said...

I love letter stickers too and those are some of my favorites! But I have to add the American Crafts remarks letter stickers to your list. There are gazillions of letters in different colours and different fonts...and I have them all!!!! They are perfect for the title!!!

I love Heidi Swapp letter stickers! I have a set that is my fave by her! I also love thickers, I think they are the best!

I haven't used either of those products but can see the possibilities. I have tons of letter stickers but rarely use them as I don't have a good storage system and forget about them.

I love thickers by American Crafts. I also use Creative Memories stickers. I have to say very irratating when you run out of a certain letter. Ughh!

kgscrapper said...

I tent to be a bit OCD when using alpha stickers and think everything has to be perfectly straight and perfectly spaced. I also always seem to run out of certain letters and have oodles of less used ones left over.

I love the basic black and white of the stickers you reviewed here. Most of my alpha stickers are CM, which are just the letter, not on a background...KWIM??

Seeing your layouts has inspired me to get out some of my alpha stickers and "make what is old new again."

Katherine said...

I just discovered the MM tiny alpha stickers while participating in the LOAD challenge in Feb. (Lay Out A Day w/ Lain Ehmann) I fell really hard for them! I couldn't believe how awesome they made a layout look. Perfect! I had to buy them in every color way I could find and now DH is worried about my MM Tiny Letter Addiction! LOL!

As far as HKS stuff, I have always had horrible problems with stuff sticking down and staying down instead of pulling up and rolling off of layouts. It got to the point I had to add extra
adhesive to every single letter sticker I used. Very frustrating -the look was cool, though!: )

Abbey S. said...

I am a fan of thickers as well. I just like that they kind of "pop" out of your page. I guess I should try some other things too.

Helena said...

Love what you did with these. I'm not a sticker lover or I wasn't but have recently gained a certain liking to them :)

I love letters like these! A couple others that top my list are the Carolee's Creations Adorn It tiny type stickers and My Little Shoebox has some cute glossy block letters that I love, too!

I love my alpha stickers, too! The MM one's are a fave of mine, but I've never tried the HS letter stickers, although I'm thinking I need to! (:

I am not much of a black and white person. I love colors. And like you I wish the Heidi Swapp Block Alphabet stickers are available in other colors. But I really like the way you use them. I might just buy these black and white Heidi Swapp Block Alphabet stickers and make layout with them. I have the MM tiny stickers in other colors. I use it for short journaling. As you said it it very small and difficult to use. But I still like it.

Suz said...

I love the MM tiny alpha & buy multis each time a new color comes out. I had to laugh about your hording of the HS ones. Michaels had the beige with brown print ones on clearance & I bought 10 packs for less than $10!

Rasmie said...

LIKE those Heidi Swapp ones! I use the MM ones already. Thickers are a staple for me like most people. I'm liking the Chit Chat ones just now.

There are Heidi Swapp/Advantus alphas that I keep seeing on peoples LO's but I haven't ever found them to buy so assume they're discontinued They are chipboard and fairly plain. Hope they release those again!

Jen said...

I am a total alpha fiend!! My all time favorites are American Craft Thickers! I love the fonts, textures & dimension these stickers give. Another fave are Doodlebug alpha stickers - their fonts are just too cute! :)

I *heart* letter stickers! Funny thing, even my hubby knows this! He has been known to tell Santa and the easter bunny to stock up on letter stickers for his wife, cute man!
I dont have a fave, just whatever catches my fancy will do, (and there is not much that doesn't in the way of letter stickers!).

KariAnnS said...

I LOVE Alphabet stickers too. I do wish the MM ones came with just a sheet of vowels. I always need more E's. :)

Nicol Whipple said...

i have some heidi swapp pink and white block letter stickers that i love and have been hoarding. i haven't tried the black ones though. the MM ones are great but i've only used the white ones though, not the black ones. i am a huge fan of american craft thickers!

Scrapycandy said...

I have lots of MM dot letter stickers but I now realize I have tons of letter stickers from many manufacturers. I love the metallic ones and the calligraphy types...I use them all for both cards and scrapbooking. I will look for some of the other MM letter stickers.

Dana said...

I'm like you -- obsessed with alphabet stickers. I finally had to step away from the Thickers at one scrapbook store because I had about 15 in my bag. Really love Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers as well.

Linda F. said...

I've never tried the HS stickers, but do love those tiny MM ones! You can do so much with them!

NanaBeth said...

So Ms Layle would you like to know you can go here:http://www.heidiswapp.com/stickers.aspx
and buy some of Heidi's stickers for .99 a pack. In fact there are a ton of incredible buys there for anyone interested.

Janelle said...

i love those little MM ones too! i absolutely can't get enough of AC ones...thickers & regular! i always seem to run out of the EEEEEEEEE's! why can't sticker makers make a sheet of stricktly one letter!

Avital said...

Great review! I love alphas as well. I really love American Crafts' Thickers, but there are so few in each package I never seem to use it more than once or twice before I have to be "creative" and make do with what's left. I also LOVE Making Memories' tiny alpha. I love the variety and the quantity - just like you've mentioned.

ginger said...

love your review! and yes I have to say love the Making Memories Tiny Alphabet Stickers too! Any color! It doesn't matter!

your article was cute! loved the honesty of it!

Carol S-U said...

I've been using "Thickers" by American Craft and like their size - when first positioned they don't seem like they're going to stick, but it allows for those little adjustments, and after letting them sit, they seem stuck tight. Not for really long titles, just the simple one or two word ones. Love the samples!

H. said...

Love the MM tiny ones, will have to look out for the others!

I love alpha stickers. I really really like the My Little Shoebox

Wendy said...

Alpha stickers are on my list of things I'm not allowed to buy any more. That's how much I have loved them! Ha! I do love the MM Tiny Stickers in every color...of course.

Etta said...

Those both look good. I use a lot of American Crafts Remarks in JFK font because of the clean simple lines. And I love how many there are of each letter. Very economical and I haven't had a situation where I ran out of a letter I needed yet!

I love the MM tiny alphas, but my all time favorites are still the Thickers! Thanks for a great review, I hadn't seen the Heidi Swapp ones.

Thickers! I have hundreds of packs of Thickers!!!!! I also like the Making Memories tiny alphas. There is a sheet that I have from Rose Moka...it is delightful...looks kind of like the Heidi Swapp that you have, only this is in color! :)

MotherofJackals said...

I have a love/hate thing going with alpha stickers. I like the concept but in practice....ugh. I need 1 more e!!!!! or why does this sheet have only two p's???

I have never tried or even seen the Heidi Swapp or Making Memories ones you featured today. Maybe I have not looked hard enough because of so much frustration in the past with them. I know I have about 20 sheets of alpha stickers right now all the ones where I can get 2-3 actual words off of the sheet before I run out of vowels.

Aimee said...

I am an alpha lover... I have a huge collection of thickers, i have some carolees creations, some making memories, but i don't have any of the heidi swapp. loved this post :)

Kate said...

I have to admit that I buy alphabet stickers when I see ones that I love, but I'm paranoid about running out of the letters I need so I rarely use them. I would like to think I'm justifiably paranoid because I have run out on several projects, but I've become an expert on cutting apart other letters to make the letter I need.

I'd love to start using sparkly, thick alphabet letters...but what do I do with all the leftovers that I'll never use?!

Ginajam said...

I have many of the Making Memories stickers...in every color possible. The only thing that I don't care for is that they do lose their stickiness after you move them around. That wouldn't be the only brand that does that tho!! Thanks for the chance...have a great weekend!!

ms.cheryl said...

I am a hoarder too. I thought it was only me. What a relief to know that the best of the best has the same problem.
I bought some stickers on QVC that i have really enjoyed. They are Brenda Walton and they came in a variety of colors. They have a floral background and i love them.
Thanks for the giveaway, ms.cheryl

Maria said...

Oh Alphabet stickers.........just saying it gives me joy. I am a title person too, so having letters in all colors and sizes is a MUST! I love Making Memories and also American Crafts Thickers. It's hard to use them sometimes, because I like the look of a full sheet of letters - yes my family thinks I'm weird!

I love Alphas.
Thickers are my favorite, but I have a set of the MMs and I really like them.
I've started using a few sets together to use up my extras--really like the combo of different fonts/colors.

I have never tried the Heidi Swapp stickers - didn't even know they were out there (which could be because I didn't start scrapping until shortly before they were discontinued), but now I will ahve to try them. I am completely addicted, however, to the MM stickers! And count me among those addicted to Thickers as well!

Ohhhhhhhhh!! MY FAVORITE scrappy supply is Alpha stickers!! I too, hoard them and cannot get enough! I love to mix and match various styles/brands in one title....it's my favorite way to use them. I'd LOVE to win me some more!!!

pbjocrosby said...

I forgot to say... what I don't like about heidi swap chipboard alphas is that they lose their sticky and also the colored part easily removes from the chipboard (when you distress). I love the colors and fonts, but they cause you more work than the AC thickers!

Kim said...

OMGosh! I LOVE alphabet stickers! I have a ton! I mainly use the minis from MM, though I've never seen either of the styles you feature. I have some glitter alphas from MAMBI that I really like!

Oh, I’m with you on needing an intervention. I don’t think my collection is as big as yours but I’m on my way. What I love about these stickers that you have chosen to emphasize on is the diversity. They are small enough to put anywhere but add such a statement to any project. When I buy alphabet stickers I tend to buy up to 3 packs to make sure I have enough E’s, A’s etc.; you know the letters that seem to always run out first. Would it not be nice to have a sheet of each letter? That way you have a stock pile to sticker away at your journaling and titles without the fear of them running out.

EJoloya said...

Yes, I love MM alpha tiny stickers. I have it in all the ones they have available. On the black with the white lettering, sometimes I use my White Pen to write over the letters if I can't see it. I do the same with the white background and black letterings. Sometimes when I'm out of the "E", I would write on the "L", "I" or "1" to make my "E". I try to get the most out of my letters that way.

i love the MM small letters. I use them on LO's all the time and because they are so small they fit in just about anywhere. I also like the fact there are so many of them on a sheet.

I love the MM tiny stickers for journalling and for small projects. Thickers are very nice but I dont find them sticky enough so add a few small blobs of pva to be on the safe side. I used to hoard them, afraid of using them all up, but since 'acquiring' a die-cutter and a few alpha sets, Im happier to mingle in my stickers with those. One can never have too many alphas!!!

Wow I am so glad to hear this review about letter stickers. It seems that possibly all of us scrapbookers are addicted. After all, you get one sheet and its not enough. So you need 2, 3, 4, you know how it goes! Here are my favorites: Making memories tiny letter stickers (also!), MM Cheeky black shimmer stickers (can't get enough), American Crafts Chipboard Jewelry box, both black and white (I love this font!!!) There are my three all time faves, yet I have several more that I am trying hard not to mention. Thanks!

My fav are Basic Grey's alpha stickers, love the distressed look and so easy to layer!

I heard about the infamous Heidi Swapp block letters, so cool that they are being sold again!

I love the Making Memories ones. I have them in white and just used them on a layout about 1/2 hour ago. Thanks for the opportunity to win this MM prize.

I LOVE the making memories one ... I buy every one I see as they come out. I was completely unaware of the Heidi Swapp ones, though!! They're awesome!! Now, what can we do to get her to make them in a few other colors?

I am a Thicker fanatic. Ya know, the ones from American Crafts. I love the dimension. What I don't like is that sometimes they are not sticky enough. I'm like you when it comes to these---can hardly walk by the display without a package jumping into my basket!

I've never met an alphabet sticker I didn't like. Crossing my fingers I win!

I've never tried these alpha stickers, but I use these tiny alpha stickers ADORTit by Carolees Creations and love them. They do stick very well too. You should try them.

You are too funny- I tend to not use something I have a hard tome finding, or think is going "out" as I am afraid I am going to "use it all up and be out" Kinda why I need tow sheets of pattern paper the same before I will cut one, in case I make a mistake I have back-up!
Truth be told, I am a thickers kinda gal- I am on a mission to have doubles of them ALL. Want more fun letter stickers though, decent stick, great sizes and package chuck full- try these:
1)Lil Davis Architect stickers - tons of stick, peel off nice and has 8 of each vowel per pack
2)Imagination Project cardstock stickers-different fonts of each letter, nice size and they are black on a neutral background
3) SEI has several, my lastest fav is the "glitzmas" ones that are like epoxy topped- they remind me of M&Ms
AC letter sticker books, REMARKS, come in white and black, multiple fonts - the book is JAMMED pack. But they stick to the backing often and not much sticky on the page, I tend to run them through my "X" first

I haven't tried the HS ones but I have a ton of the MM ones. I even have them in specialty colors like from last yrs Christmas line and the Chloe's Closet line. CUTE!! I use them on everything!!

I also LOVE the alpha stickers from Doodlebug and of course, Thickers! LOL :)

I too love alphas. I love, love, love thickers from american crafts. I also love any alphas that have a nice classic font and a color that works with my layout. Nothing too frilly or foofy - classic is nice.

melita said...

total sticker fiend here! i love the mini alphas! i can't resist them!

Stephanie said...

I love the MM tiny alphas you showcased and the AC Remarks in the Moma style. I need a set to be versatile, not to trendy and thrifty. I usually stick to 1-5 styles and purchase in bulk. I need them to be timeless.

mollyvh said...

I too love the MM tiny stickers- especially the holiday themed ones!
My other favorite are Thickers- I mean, really, who doesn't love a Thicker?

Carolyn G said...

I am a hoarder, too, for fear that I will not be able to find them again. My faves are of course, Thickers, and Doodlebug designs for fun kiddie layouts. I don't use letters for journaling. I guess I just thought they would be so hard to use, but you have inspired me to give it a try. Thanks!

Love all the making memories tiny alphas!

i have to say that thickers are my go to letters for titles (do those count as stickers?) heehee

Julie Johnson said...

I have used the Making Memories tiny stickers and absolutely love them. I can't wait to get my hands on the new Heidi Swapp ghost stickers. Yeah!!

Totally love the MM tiny alpha stickers. Other faves include thickers, doodlebug and scenic route stickers.

I luv Thickers...not as much as some...but they are fun, shoot, any alphabet is fun. I'm a font girl!! I'll even change my signature everytime I have my license renewed!

I too love Heidi Swapp!!

Debbie C. said...

You cracked me up with that "hoarder" explanation! I thought I was the only one who thought like that. I love the MM tiny stickers. I am definitely a thickers kind of gal. I have never seen a thicker I didn't like!

Corey said...

I am a hoarder of the MM tiny alphas!!!! really, I buy them in black and white 3 pkgs of each at a time - and when a new set comes out I get 2 of each of those just to be safe!

I've never used the HS letters but want to so I'll be watching for their release at scrapbook.com!!!

jakki said...

hmmm might have to try the horder thing, 10 packs hmmm i've only done that with page protectors although my new record is 12 packs of page protectors in one purchase.

i am a typography nut too though, i love thickers and my new thing is AC rub-on alphas ... but i still cant beat the fonts on my computer and my shilouette to cut them out with .... never run out that way. :)

Thanks for the review. I admit to being a MM tiny alpha fan. Have lots and lots of those babies in my stash and scattered across my LOs and cards. I also like the Carolees Tiny stickers for the same reason.

I'm a great MM Tiny Alpha fan but admit that I've never tried the Heidi Swapp ones. Will see if I can get hold of some here in the UK.

I am a HUGE fan of the Making Memories alphas, and the HS letters.......well, depends on the project! But, I do like them, and am glad they are coming back!

scrappinBarb said...

I love the little MM ones... I did a LO that had all the journalling done with those, stuck onto a Maya Road sheer journalling tag... it was in the Jan/Feb issue of Simple.

The HS ones... I have been trying and trying to get my LSS to order them in, but I don't think her supplier has them any longer. :(

~*~ Stephanie ~*~ said...

I LOVE how they look on projects... but I haven't gotten to use those kind yet!

I don't have any favorites... but when I do find something I like I buy several packs right then... because most of the time I run out of certain letters and never have what I need to finish!

Mabel said...

I'm not a big fan to tiny stickers but loooove My little shoe box little alphas, really cool and easy to use. =)

Thanks for the other tips, I'll try to use more in the future, the results is sooooo cool!

I'm a typography nut, and letter stickers abound in my home. I purchased the Cricut thinking it would be the eco-friendly way to cut back on buying every self-adhesive, ready-to-go pack on the market. Yeah, right. I still throw them at the register each and every time I check out. I am a Thickers girl. but don't know what I would do without the tiny Making Memories and the variety of colors they come in! There's no doubt, I am a letter sticker addict, too.

JoLynn said...

I hadn't used block letters until I went to CKC. At a Simple Scrapbooks workshop, we used some, and I LOVED the way they looked. I have to say, I am ALLLLLLL over Thickers by American Crafts. Oh my gosh! It was the same CKC where I got some of them at a workshop (thanks Becky Higgins!). I was in LOVE. It's ridiculous. The issue with Thickers is sometimes the adhesive peels off. Or, if you have to move them, the adhesive stays in the old spot and is really sticky.

I was an alphabet snob for a LONG time, mainly because I can do freehand scripts. With my increased use of digi-scrapping, the combination of fonts from the web and alphabet stickers has become one of my favorite things.

Deanne said...

ohh I am so glad i am not the only alphabet addict!I buy any alphabet I find! Would love to win some!!

Jenn said...

I don't own a lot of alphabet stickers, but I LOVE what you have done with them and might have a new addiction.

My only concern is that I'm going to run out of the letters I need and have a bunch of ZZ, QQ, and XX I don't need.

Deborah Mahnken said...

I'm addicted to the Making Memories tiny alphas and did a happy dance when they brought them back. My other favorites are Doodlebug & Pink Paislee alphas.

Melanie Stanczyk said...

I own a ton of alpha's!! I even went as far as buying a cricut to try to save the money from buying alpha's. But, right now I think I would like to sell the cricut and just stick with Alpha's. So much easier just to peel and stick!

My favorite are Thickers. I like something with a little profile to them. Flat one, just don't do it for me.

Vicky said...

wow, i am not the only one addicted to ALPHA'S.... i love them all but my favorite are the tiny little one from Adornit, thickers and Pink paislee. Some weeks ago i discovered Jillibean Soup, i love them too. I have never used the Heidi Swapp letters, they are hard to find here (Spain)thanks

Thank goodness someone else has the same problem I do. Yes, I am a letter sticker crazy. I have my entire cropper hoppers (the big black ones that fit on the stand) filled with alphabets. I had to give up on using the hanging folders because I needed that extra space too. You can pack that baby up with a lot of alphabet sheets!

I love the Making Memories tiny alphas in white. I use them all the time! I bought a stash just in case they stop making them. :)

I love alphabet stickers too and haven't tried the MM or Heidi Swapp stickers yet. I am in love with thickers right now and have some in every color. I love how they add dimension to my page, with different types to go with the page, being glossy, fuzzy, etc. Mary

I never thought of using alphabet stickers for my layouts. I think I would like to use alphabet stickers. They would be great for journaling.

ScRaPbOoKfReNzY said...

My faves have become the Making Memories tiny alphas, but I love the Pink Paislee alphas and the American Crafts sticker alphas as well.

My favorites are American Crafts remarks, Chloe. A close runner up would be the cute little cork stickers that were VERY temporarily available in the dollar bins at Target. ::Shaking head:: I am running out of them:(

OMG! I was just complaining (LOL) today that I am running out of my Heidi Swapp Block Alpha's...I just love them so so so much!
I also use the MM tiny alpha's..those are another staple for me!
I really need more of these...REALLY!

i've not used either of these. i like the MM glitter alphas and AC thickers.

Being a "supplies hoarder," like many of my Scrap Review sisters, I would buy letter stickers evey time I found them on sale. Any color--any style, I got them! The problem was with all those alphabets, I never seemed to have the right one or a "color" that would match my project.

After playing around with them a little one day, I found out I could paint them if I didn't like the color I had -- I could glitter them--put crackle paint on them--all kinds of wonderful things! With just a coat of Diamond Glaze on top, the letters will have a wonderful glossy, dimensional look. Like some of the others, I also have a die cut machine, a Silhouette, and PC for even more options! A girl can never have enough alphabets, you know.

Sherry said...

I absolutey LOVE LOVE LOVE American Craft Thickers...especially the foam letters. They come in different fonts, colours and materials - glitter, felt, vinyl, foam...can't get enough!!

Shanna said...

My favorite are the Making Memories white with black letters. I also love Thickers-mostly foam!

Miwa said...

I'm glad I'm not the only hoarder of alphabet stickers! The MM tiny stickers ARE great except the loss of adhesiveness after you reposition them. Still... you can't beat the quantity for the money!

Anonymous said...

I too have a load of alpha stickers, luv them particularly the MM tiny ones and thickers. EJ

Anonymous said...

I love the old Wordsworth black letter stickers they used to have. They look like black scribble. I used the heck out of those letters and now I am sad because I cant find them anywhere. I guess I will just have to stick with my thickers : (

Tricia said...

I'm a Thickers fan because I prefer the dimension. However, I've been scrapping for a long time and have a lot of different alphas in my stash which I do use (when I can't find the right Thickers for my project). When I can't find the sticker I want and don't want to go shopping - I pull out my trusty Cuttlebug and make my own!

Peg said...

Love those stickers too!

Marianne Hope said...

I love and use all kind of thickers but I couldn't live without the small making memories stickers to use in combination with them. Lately I bought similar stickers from MLS (my little shoebox) and rose moka but in way cooler colors (like brown, orange, pink and red).
