This month I was ecstatic to be asked to be the Guest Artist for an great kit club called A Kiss on the Chic. The thing with kit clubs is...there isn't really a right or wrong kit club, it mostly depends on your style, the price you can afford to pay monthly and your general like of their online community if you choose to participate in that way.
Generally kit clubs off a main kit and some additional add-on kits, but this club is a bit different...in a most delightful way. They organize their kits by theme. So, for this Guest Artist spot, I was able to choose from the following kit themes: Baby Boy, Baby Girl, Childhood Boy, Childhood Girl, Teen Boy and Teen Girl. Why hasn't anyone done this before? (or if they have, let us know who!) To see all of these kits click here. Also of note: A Kiss on the Chic is a NO COMMITMENT kit club. You do not have to sign up for any subscription. It is all on a month-by-month basis. Recession friendly.....Hooray!

All items from kit except Chipboard Circle by Scenic Route and punch by Fiskars

All items from kit except Making Memories mini alphabet stickers.
I chose Baby Girl. Like many of you, I didn't get around to scrapping my youngest daughter's baby picture while she was still a young baby. So, I felt getting this kit would give me an opportunity to scrap some of those pictures I haven't looked at in 2 years. When I sit down with a kit from a kit club and I take only the kit, a trimmer, journaling pen and adhesive and challenge myself to create with nothing else. And the result was a fun and creatively challenging experience.
As I always find is the case with kit clubs, I get a few items I would not have chosen while shopping at my local LSS. Some see this as a disadvantage, but I love it. I would not have picked this wood grain paper or the paper butterflies, but I really LOVE the way this page turned out. Kit Clubs are a great opportunity to push yourself, take on a challenge and find new products you didn't know you would fall in love with.

All items from kit except for Making Memories mini alphabet stickers.

All items from kit except green double dot cardstock by Bo Bunny, pink alphabet stickers by October Afternoon and white alphabet stickers by Making Memories.
So, to sum up, I love kit clubs as long as I choose a kit or club whose kits are within the realm of my usual style with just a few components that are outside of my style to challenge me. A Kiss on the Chic was a perfect fit in this way and I really enjoyed this kit and the new products I came to love. Stop back tomorrow to see what Team Reporter Susan Keuter made with the Childhood Boy kit and for a second chance to win!
To win your own kit from A Kiss on the Chic leave a comment on this post. Up for grabs is the TEEN GIRL kit. Leave your comment by Noon EST tomorrow (Tuesday). Winners will be announced on Thursday!

Looks like this was a great kit! Fantastic LO's as well! Beautiful!
I LOVE the idea of theme and age based kits. I have 2 teenagers, so sometimes the cutesy baby type stuff soes not appeal to me!! Since I have a teen girl..... this kit will be put to good use when you draw my name!!
It's so hard to find themes that work with middle/high school girls. This would be perfect as I work on layouts featuring my 6th grader!
I'm a big fan of kits. Like you, I enjoy being challenged by items that I normally wouldn't buy. Your layout with the wood grain paper is fabulous!
What a beautiful lay out from the kit! I have a teen daughter and it is hard to find product for teens so a teen kit would be wonderful.
I've never subbed to a kit, because I'm nervous about getting stuff I don't like, but have often wondered if I should bite the bullet. Looking at the creativity you've displayed perhaps Ishould
The kits are so beautiful! I love them!
I love kit clubs. I belong to several. They make me think out of the box. I love getting exclusive items and stamps. I have purchased several of Laura's kits in the past her kits are awesome.
I have 2 teen girls this would be an awesome kit!! Here's to hoping I can win it and get some of these pages done :)
I'd love to try out a kit! And I love the bloom and grow layout! I think I'll be scraplifting that one!
Oh, these are just fabulous!!! I love how well the papers work together!!!
I would love to try a kit. I've been thinking about them lately because I find myself buying larger packs and never getting through all of that paper from one collection. The age based kits seem like a good idea, too.
I'd love to win a "teen girl" kit... it would give me a good idea of what one may find in a kit club kit. Thanks for reviewing these for us!
I love the choice idea too. Also you're idea of only using the kit contents to create is a great way to challenge yourself (and no digging for a perfect item would be nice change of pace for me!) Thanks for a great review!
Looks like a fun kit - love your layouts!!
i'm always opened to girl themed kits...

Emilie - love, love, love what you did with the Baby Girl kit! I've never belonged to a kit club, however, I've ordered individual kits before. The wonderful part about kits is the simple fact that everything "goes" together - they can make scrapping time much more productive.
Thanks for this article. I am seriously considering a couple of kits now and can't wait for your more in-depth report of them. Thank you!
Wonderful kit. pick me =)
I have never gotten a kit before but have always wanted to try it out...looks like some great stuff! I love the LOs you made with your kit!
I am also a fan of kits! I love what you did with the Kiss on the Chic kit!
Love kit clubs. I belong to two and every month, it's like Christmas for me. I agree that some pieces may not be things I'd pick up at the LSS, but every time, I've been able to use them in surprising and delightful ways. Doing so has also given my projects more variety and, in many cases, have improved them.
Thanks for sharing this new-to-me kit club. I love each of the choices!
I have a 14 y.o. and the teen kit would be perfect for her. I just found Kiss on the Chic and I've been watching there kits for a few months to see if it would be a good fit for me. To try a kit would be awesome!!
Great review! I LOVE how they have the kits seperated into baby boy, baby girl, etc. That is the best idea ever!
There have been kits I've loved & hated. My favorites have been ones which have included techniques and lots of embellishments.
I love this kit.. How cute.
Such a cute kit! Thanks for the review.
What a great group of projects you made...great looking kit!
I have been a member of SEI's kit club for over a year now. I love there papers and stuff so it works out well for me. I do like the idea of a variety of kits for various ages/sex of children or whatever.
love kit clubs. i subscribe to studio calico!
Wow, what a cool idea to let subscribers choose a kit by theme, tfs!
I have never been a fan of kits but I love that you get to choose your theme each month that would be a great ADVANTAGE!! I will check this out.
I love that they do it by themes! Picking and choosing is always a good thing :)
Love the options of a theme!
Love why you did with your choice of kit. And what a great selection A Kiss On The Chic provides. Cute name too!
I love kit clubs! I have been a memeber of SEI and Scarlet Lime for a couple of years now and ABSOLUTELY love them! I love Scarlet Lime mainly b/c she picks out items that I wouldn't normally be drawn to, but I love them when I see how she and others use them in the gallery!!! Now when I work on a page, I just pull out my SL goodies and make the cutest pages ... my girls are always asking where I get my "stuff" and I have said Scarlet Lime so many times that several of them have now joined! :) If you aren't currently a member to a kit club, I highly recommend that you go join one NOW! :)
I have been getting kits from Laura at A Kiss on the Chic for about 4 months now, and LOVE every single one of them. Laura not only puts together fabulous kits, but she is a sweet, funny lady who provides THE BEST and most personal customer service, which I find just as important as the kit contents themselves.
Also, you do not have to "subscribe" to A Kiss on the Chic's kit club, so that might be attractive to those who are skittish of that. You can just buy whatever she has available at your leisure (but don't move too slow, or she'll sell out).
I also get kits from another club, and I have used two other kit clubs in the past. I have to say that Laura, her kits, and her blod are my favorite!
Although your blog is supposed to be for reviewing purposes, it also provides heaps of inspiration!!! Thank you!
I've been eying these kits for a while. I would love to win one!
What a yummy kit! I would love to win this kit to make some creations about my 14 year old Daughter. Pick me :)
I've only tried one kit club so far, but would love a chance to sample this one. Thanks for providing the opportunity!
Great kit! Love your two weeks page!! Thanks for the chance to win!
i visit Laura's blog regularly. I loved her kit last month but didn't have the money in my budget to buy it. This month, I'm very tempted but haven't decided yet. I love her blog and all of the things she creates!!!
Blessings,
Christine
Very exciting! You were able to get a lot of "mileage" from your kit by adding just a couple of your items to it - inspiring, thanks!!
Absolutely stunning layouts!!!
Thanks for the review. The themed kits--a great idea. The teen girl kit looks fantastic! Thanks for a chance to win.
Dina
The way we are losing scrapbook stores...this may be the way to go. I like what you did with the kit.
These kits are so beautiful! Awesome layouts too! Lisa L.
I love that you are reviewing club kits...this is something that I have considered for a long time and I know your reviews will be helpful. It's nice knowing there is a club with no subscription commitment..thanks.

Great review and in case you missed it on a previous post... I LOVE that you're reviewing kits. There are so many to trudge through and I'm so very grateful you're willing to do the trudging :o)
Looks great! Thanks for the give away!
What a great idea, I didn't know anyone still did these subscription kits. I know when scrapbooking started picking up momentum in the early 00's that some companies did them, but now they look so much better. And exclusive products what could be better? Thanks so much for bringing these to our attention. Here in small town MN there aren't many choices for SB stores without driving to the Twin Cities, a complete shock to the system after moving from Las Vegas! The local scrapbook store is going out of business, I'll miss it, they were nice and not crafty-snooty like some can be or boring big craft chain. This might be a nice option to look into to get my new stuff fix and lifeline to civilization. Thanks again. Would love to win the chance to check one out first hand. Thanks for the opportunity!
I like working with kits. Everything in the kit is not always something I would but but I make it work. thanks for the chance at a girl teenager kit, it will be perfect fot my soon to be teenager.
I love how they do theme kits. What a great idea!!
Tina
I think it's a great idea to have your choice of kits and no commitment! Having to subscribe is what has always stopped me from getting involved with a kit club.
Thanks for your review of the kit clubs. Like the idea of themes. You did a great job on the layouts! laura j
I strictly scrap by theme so the idea of kits in themes is awsome. I just had a question. Does the kit only include enough supplies for one layout or are there kits out there that are for an entire album? Been thinking about these kotl clubs but not totally sure how they all work. So thanks for doing a series of reviews on these. It's excellent!
Beautiful LO's and it is a beautiful kit!
Thanks for the info on this club - I had never seen this one before. I would love the Teen kit - my only daughter is now a TEEN.....EEK!
Love the kit reviews. Keep them coming!!
KIT CLUBS ROCK!! I don't have a teen girl right now, but I definately can make that kit work for pics of me and/or my little girl!
Your LOs look awesome! I have never used kits before, but I find myself with a lot of paper that doesn't really go! I will have to check out their kits where there is no commitment. Great article!
Tracey B.
What a fantastic Kit and what a fantastic pages, awesome projects, love it!
Love the idea of offering a choice of theme! I also like how you created so many unique looks using the same kit supplies! Cool!
Wooo hooo to Laura and A Kiss on the Chic club! I know I love it!
I've purchased kits from her before and absolutely love them. I have a teen girl as well and would love the chance to win.
Love your LOs and would also love to win this great prize!!
Love the layouts! I too am a fan of kit clubs and currently belong to two clubs, Studio Calico and Scarlet Lime. My LSS is very small with a limited selection and clubs are a way to receive a variety of new and different product. Also, many of these clubs feature exclusive stamps which are an added benefit.
I've been tempted to try a kit club, but haven't yet taken the plunge. I love that this club doesn't require a long-term commitment - perfect for those of us weary of the plunge.
Thanks for introducing me to a Kit Club that lets everyone choose the theme that works for them, and also, lets everyone order kits as frequently as desired.
Gorgeous creations! Sounds like a fun kit club!
I love AKOTC kits, they are wonderful!! Thanks for the great review! And your layouts are beautiful! Looking forward to future reviews on different kit clubs!!
Congrats on being the guest designer. The layouts are beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win.
what a fun kit!
What a great concept to have different themes to choose from...and no commitment - another great idea that I wish more kit clubs would follow. Thanks for the chance to win! I don't have a teen yet - my 7yo is already a tween-wannabe *sigh* - and I can definitely see using this kit for her pages!
I love kit clubs! It is like getting a Christmas present every month. I have belonged to a few clubs in the past and love the kit club I belong to now but am excited to know there is a great kit club that doesn't require a subscription and gives the option on the theme you want - awesome!
Laura is definitely one of the best. I stumbled onto her about a year ago. She never disappoints and is one of the nicest, honest, caring people around.
I loved the kit club I was a part of (MemoryWorks express) and you are right sometimes the things they choose aren't exactly what I would have picked but it forces me to think outside of my "creative box"!
love your layouts and congrats on being GDT :)
This would great to win!
Guest designer, how great for you! COngrats

Love the kits that I see people create with, but have never taken the plunge. Would love to win!!
Teen girl kits, how awesome as I have a teen girl. Great layouts and congrats on being guest designer.
I love the no-commit kits! Thanks for telling us about this one!
Those are some fabulous layouts! I like the idea of a non-committal kind of club. This economy almost dictates more of those! Can't wait to see tomorrow's post:)
Thanks for the chance to win this kit. I really like reading your reviews.
Love the layouts you made!!
Such sweet layouts!
Great layouts, and I love that Teen Girl kit!
I love kit clubs. I think of it like someone else shopped for me at my LSS and I get to use the stuff they picked out. There's usually something in the club that I would NEVER have picked myself, but I love trying to think of a way to use it.
Kits are fun because you don't have to think about what goes with what. Plus I have a teenage daughter who is soon moving away to go to college. I will need lots of scrapbook therapy to get me through those tough first few months. Don't you think?
Great layouts!!! Thanks for the opportunity to win:)
I love kits - use them all the time and I love the way they challenge me. I really limit myself to only the kit and it's amazing how resourceful you can get! I would love to win one of these kits - it looks great. And I love the layouts here - so pretty!
That teen kit is full of colour. Wow. I love kits as you get products that aren't always available locally and co-ordinate and stretch you too.
I don't like the recent trend of some kit clubs who print their own papers. that has to be expensive for the kit and there are so many fantastic products already out there.
What gorgeous layouts! I've been really impressed with the pics of stuff I've seen from these kits! Thanks for the chance to win!!!
I have been thinking of joining a kit club but didn't know what all of my options are. Thanks for the pointers!
great review! love your LOs, emilie!
I really like the fact one can pick which kit they want. I might have to check this one out.
Beautiful layouts, Emilie!
I always LOVE your pages Emilie. These are no exception. I too really like kits. I sub to Scarlet Lime at the mo but love the Studio Calico blog/website and so am constantly tempted by those. I'm off to check out a Kiss on the Chic.
It is a fabulous kit!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Vanessa
You are really easing my fears about clubs. I'm loving the overall look of "A Kiss on the Chic" their kits seem to be very eclectic without being over the top. Thanks for doing the dirty work for us. :)
I love the fact that you can buy which months you choose.
Thanks for the great info!
Cute layouts! Sweet and simple. I will be checking out this kit club.
Wow, that grow layout is fabulous!! How did you do those circles with the numbers built in?? Cricut? Adorable.
gorgeous kit & gorgeous LOs!
This is an awesome kit! Thanks for the chance to win it!
Great kit. I never uwe kits, but when I see this, I think I will use this one! Thanks for the chance to win it.
Wow, your Bloom and Grow LO is fantastic! Great kit, pick me!!
I just got the newsletter today and missed the deadline. I'm bummed :) I love what you did with the papers Emilie!
ADORABLE LAYOUTS
How sweet is your baby girl, she is smiling so big for such a little thing! I love love love the Autumn LO!
Totally LOVE the idea of not having to commit to a club. This club seems to be right up my alley. And the different themes are PERFECTION! I may just become a club fan afterall.
Wendi from UT
what a gorgeous kit, I loved the layouts that were created :)
Just to let you know, I have a standing "Deal"... When you've bought 6 kits, your 7th is FREE!!! And a BIG THANK YOU to Susan and Emilie for saying such nice things about my Kit Club! Feel free to email me if you have any questions... I know lots of people aren't sure about "Kit Clubs" but I want to make it FUN and EASY to give mine a try!! And I'll be posting *Sneaks* of the May Kits soon! Thanks, Laura
Thanks for the review. That's one lovely kit!!
I have never tried a kit. Have always thought that I wouldn't use everything included. After seeing your layouts, I am changing my mind. Adorable!! Would love to try one soon :)
LOVE IT, so hip and fun. Love the idea of an optional club so much
Loved the layouts, this kit is so beautiful! Loved the fact that there is no monthly commitment with this club.
