Hopefully, you caught our Kit Club Basics post on Sunday and Emilie's A Kiss on the Chic projects on yesterday's post. I've never EVER worked with a club-kit. This was a first. I've always shied away from them because I was afraid they'd be non-current things - or too theme specific - or too mismatched and thrown together.

Well, this Kiss On The Chic kit blew me away! LOVED every single piece of paper, loved the embellishments and loved how it all went together. I personally am terrible at picking out matching paper - outside of a designer line. I always put Jenni Bowlin with Jenni Bowlin, and Sassafras Lass with other Sassafras Lass. This kit made me realize how easy it is. Because while the oranges and reds may not have been dead on matches - they all looked great together. I seriously was freed up and could just reach for a piece of paper - and it worked with whatever other piece I had my eye on using! LOVED IT!

I appreciate the fact that I was given a wide variety of paper - meaning some stripes, some bold patterns, some cutesie paper and some great background neutrals as well. And while my kit was the "Childhood Boy" it was totally versatile enough to do a variety of themes with the contents. I also really appreciate that A Kiss on the Chic is a NO COMMITMENT kit club. You do not have to sign up for any subscription. This club may have totally changed my mind about kit clubs!

I to am line mixing challenged it's great that they do it for you.

I love the idea of a kit too. Like you, I get overwhelmed trying to work with different patterned paper. I love it, I have tons of it...on my shelf :)
I really like the versatility of this kit. There are waaay more possibilities than just childhood boy pages!! Definitely gonna check this kit club out!
I like that kit a lot. There are many sassafras lass products in it and I'm a big fan of sl. I'm gonna mosey on over to A Kiss on the Chic and check out their offerings. Yeah, I'm hooked on kit clubs!

I'd love a kit! It is great to play with companies that you've never tried before.
I have never been a fan of kits because I am afraid they wouldnt be my style of papers, etc. and most of the stuff wouldnt get used. I may just have to try one of these kits they look great.

This kit looks great! So many different fun layouts from one kit. Just loved the layout about your son sticking his tongue out. My husband laughs at me that I can't do any detail work without holding my mouth at a funny angle!
I love this kit - and all of the inspiration! It's great to see how the papers and embellishments can be used for non-boy pages, too!

One of my biggest frustrations is when I can't get the colors to match. I have thought of Kit Clubs before but afraid of the commitment. Since I don't scrap on a regualar basis(this needs to change) I'm afraid of the money and kits piling up. This club sounds interesting since there is no commitment. I will need to look into it.

I LOVE those distressed letters in the kit and the die cut lined paper you used in the first LO. The whole kit is cool but those 2 items I want to run out and buy.

Nice pages... I too have never used kits. I like the color schemes of this kit. And i am loving the crossword puzzle paper.
I've never been part of a kit club fearing that the kit would be too theme specific or contain items that I would never use. The 'Kiss on the Chic' kit used here certainly puts that fear to rest. Great paper, embellishments, etc. and I love that it is a "no commitment" club. Hope I win the Childhood Boy...I have a 4 year old son and would love to use this kit!
I love the use of colors that the kits provide. Sometimes when you're working on your own, you don't know if the colors will go. The colors in the kits you played with POP because of the contrast. Thanks for showing us!

That's one thing wonderful about Laura's kits. They aren't matchy matchy but yet everything goes together.

Fantastic kit, usually being short on both inspiration and ideas, I spend hours at my LSS trying to find some! I would love the opportunity to play with my first kit and challenge myself, rather than getting ideas from other people.

Thanks for all your information on kits. I was in one about 8 years ago. The paper quality was very good but it was too themed. I found it hard to work with what was sent to me.After a year (which I had to do) I quit. I never have looked at another one since.I think I would look at a kit that gave you the choice whether to take it or not. I find your reviews to be very helpful. Thank you

I have often looked at different scrap kits and have always felt that they looked too "generic". Wasn't quite sure that I would use everything that came with the kit. After seeing the AKOTC kits, I am sold. Love that the paper is all coordinating and I could always add matching products as well. Great review!

THe layouts rock!!! I recently joined a club. It is an every other month plan. I like that everything match and there is no searching for coordinating papers/embellies. THe LSS always seems to have great paper but no matching embellies or cute embellies but not "just the right paper"...who does the buying for this place anyhow?? I might have to check out AKOTC for myself.

There are some really cool papers included in that kit! I can see how it could be usd for more the just a "childhood boy"!
When my daughter leaves for college in August I will have to resort to scrapbooking about my lovely teenage son. This kit would come in very handy.
Explored all over at Kiss on the Chic - loved the childhood boy (since I have a childhood boy!) and wanted the kit, but I have spent my scrapbooking allowance this month on three other kit clubs. Crosses fingers that I can win this one!

Hey you sassy red head. I kinda feel the same way about kits--but i think that is because we are spoiled---how is the price? And the cost of shipping? Just curious to know if it is a good deal...
I've done a kit here in Holland, but it just wasn't my thing.....And it was a subscription so I got about a year of kits and half I didn't like at all. Choosing is better for me.

Your layouts are great and I too love the AKOC kits. I joined last year and have been learning to mix paper lines and adding 3D embellishments since that time. I am a member of 3 kit clubs right now and this one is my favorite. I also love the fact that I am not locked into getting a kit each month and haved a choice of kits when I do opt to purhcase.

I'd just like to say that I've been getting these kits from Laura since December and they have all been awesome!! I have been with lots of kit clubs, but her kits always inspire me - I can get 8 layouts done easily with tons left. The thing is they are inspiring but nothing is too matchy match (as in everything from the same line - especially pp). I usually get 2 or 3 los done with other kits, but I usually come close to using up my whole kit EVERY month!! I would definitely recommend you try her kits - I love that there is no obligation (even though I do get 1 or 2 kits each month every time!!). She always has some of the newest and hottest sb items and the kits are way worth every penny - better than most kit clubs!! And I'd just like to say,.....no Laura didn't pay me to write this ;)!
Love the desert layout! I'm impressed. I too have shied away from kits; thinking it would not have enough flexibility for me. You have disproved this notion! The kit looks really cool and I have lots of little boy photos to scrap of my not-so-little-boy-now.

I Love what you did with the kit and to tell you the truth If I win this I will take a second one. Mine should be here today. I love AKOTC, her kits can be used for any style of scrapping you are into, So make it as chic as you want. Laura is sweet and I only wish we had sometimes is a message board a message board to chat with each other and inspire each other.
