Let's explain, shall we?
When I started The Scrap Review I was searching to make a site where you got real reviews that were never altered by selling ad space. I knew it would be a lot of work, but felt that the Scrapping world needed it. Other craft review sites not only sell ad space, but they also send out letters to manufacturers promising to not "air their dirty laundry" if they agree to donate product and creates a bias, therefore compromising the integrity of the review. This is completely the opposite of what we are trying to achieve with this site.
And the site runs for free right? Wrong. LOL!
That's what I thought too, but I quickly learned (and so did my credit card) that this site cannot run for free and remain all that it is.
But just what are the costs involved?
- domain names registration.
- prize packs to mail.
- galleries needed upgrading to a PRO account for the blinkies to work.
- newsletter account upgrades for exceeding the free limit of subscribers.
- postage to mail review materials to team members.
...and it goes on from there.
So what to do? Me and Ashley thought about this long and hard and set up what we hope is a win/win for both our team and our readers. So this coming June 1st starts a week long ...
Woo Hoo! We have been working around the clock to garner donations from some pretty amazing companies to give away to you...raffle style. And when I say prizes...I mean HUGE PRIZES! I am actually a bit envious that I can't enter! Most of the vendors involved have put together prize packs beyond $100 in value and there will be multiple raffles each and every day.
Check back here on Friday, May 29th for details on how the raffle is going to work and find out how YOU could win some fabulous prizes!
But for now, spread the word and display the blinkie.
We will be watching and surfing your blogs this week.
If we spot our raffle blinkie on your blog you could win a special door prize! Leave a comment here with the link to your blog.
