Martha Stewart Craft Punches

{Reported by Aly Dosdall}
I must admit, I am a thrifty gal who loves a great bargain. I won’t spend money on things that aren’t going to last or aren’t totally worth the cost. That’s one reason why I love punches--you can use them over and over again, and they are so versatile.

I have many different punches from many manufacturers, and I can honestly say that the Martha Stewart Crafts punches I have are my favorite!! The design makes them so easy to use. I love that they are squeeze punches, but aren’t heavy, huge, awkward, or hard to store. Being able to see where you punch the image on the underside is a huge plus as well. Though I haven’t had them for a long time, they seem sturdy and durable. The images are classic and versatile making them super useful to scrappers, card-makers, and paper crafters of all kinds. In addition, the cost is comparable to, and even less than in some cases, other squeeze punches out there. In my opinion they are worth investing in for sure.

What I liked:

My three favorite things about MSC punches are 1) the easy-to-use but small and storable squeeze design, 2) classic and beautiful images, and 3) competitive price.

What I didn’t like:

It’s hard to think of anything here, but in the future I would like to see some punches with larger images.

What I made:

Great use of punches. I am a punch type of girl also. I do have one problem with the MS border punches and that is that they dont cut WELL at all on thick cardstock. I think the manufacturers of border punches NEED to work on the quality of their punches to be able to punch through THICK papers!! I have a couple of the MS border punches that get stuck every time in THICK cardstock!!!

I have an edge punch and a butterfly punch and I agree, they are both the easiest in my small collection. I'll keep adding on - I just know it. :)

Hmm, well I recently got into border punches...and I bought a fiskars one and then I bought a MS one...and boy the MS one is 10 times nicer to use, easier to press and folds in for storage...so yeah, I would have to say that I prefer the MS one a lot more!!!!

Great review, thanks!!!

Oh Yes the MS punches are always on my shopping list at Michaels especially since you can use the 40 percent off coupons. I've never paid full price for a single one.

Great projects and review Aly! I don't own any MS punches. I may have to try one. I wish the butterfly one came a bit bigger!

beautiful projects Aly!! I have a collection of Martha Stewart punches, and I love every one of them!
only one broke, and that was because my daughter dropped it.

I really like their border punches...they cut through all papers unlike some other punches I have. And they leave a truly beautiful motif. Hope they keep coming up with more!

I have about 20-25 MS punches and I love them! My favorite is the scallop heart border.

I did not have a good experience. I bought the spider web one to use in a class and it jammed and didn't work well at all. When contacted MSC they said not their problem since I purchased at my local craft store.

Contacted EK success since their name is on the packaging and rec's a response from Wilton Industries. Apparently, I can send it back to them, and if they have in stock, I can get a replacement in 4-6 weeks.

When I balked at having to pay s/h, they then offered to send a pre-paid label, but nothing they could do about 4-6 weeks turnaround. fat lotta good a Halloween punch does me in late Nov....

So you do risk possibly getting a faulty product.

I have a number of her punches and I have had one bad experience like Shelby.

I got one that did not punch cleanly around the edge and I tried sharperning it and nothing helped.

I returned it to Michaels and they were good about letting me exchange it (even without a receipt).

Wonderful projects Aly! I have only one of her punches but I do agree that they seem to be well made.

Love MS punches, for all the reason you stated. I've had a few since they frist arrived on the market, and I am always grabbing them for one project or another. Like you, the only complaint I have about them is I'd like to see a few larger styles. Love your holiday card design - TFS!!

I have the MS scallop border punch! And I love it!! I do not have a hard time at all punching it thru my cardstock or thicker pp's. I think it works wonderfully. I have 4 Fiskars border punches too. But, I think this one punches nicer!! If only they could bump up production or something for that loopy punch that is never available! *sigh*
