Good Monday morning! I thought for today's article I would share a video I made on how to use your Fiskars border punches. When I first purchased one, I always messed up and I stopped using it. I know, dumb right? Well a very good friend showed me how to use it properly and I thought I would pass that info to you! Enjoy!!

Fiskars punches are my favorite brand, as they are the best quality I have found.
Love Fiskers and when I punch I always make the punch longer because I always mess up ha.. I'm about to go try your tip out now :) TFS!

I often turn my border punches upside down and line it up from underneath. Can be tricky though! :)
I really enjoy my border punches and feel like they have added alot to my projects.
awesome and informational! I jumped right into using them how i "thought" they should be used, which meant turning them over and then practically crushing my fingers in order to get it lined up properly.

Border punches are great! The idea with the "shadow image" to help punch continuously is absolutely fabulous. I nearly fainted the first time I saw that :-D (j/k)

Awesome video. Love that they have pictures for lining up the borders. I have many punches that I have tried to turn into border punches and they look ewwwww cause they are so not lined up. Thanks!
Great video - thanks for sharing your tips! I love Fiskars border punches so very much. One thing I've learned is that they generally punch 5 'shapes' in a row and if you line up the first 3 on the left or the last 3 on the right you can punch right in a row and not have to go back and re-punch in between punched areas.

I am addicted to border punches and I love Fiskars. I think the guidelines are good for knowing where to start if you want to know where the design is going to start on your paper, so I usually start with my edge lined up against one of those border lines :)
I love my Fiskars punches. I find the more basic the design, the better I like it because it can be added to so many things!

I like those punches you used. Not knowing any better, I have always started my punching with the punch upside down, and starting the punching at the paper end. Then I work my way along the paper in one direction using the guides on the punch. Thanks so much!
I love border punches and I especially love the ones by Fiskars. The design to line up the punch is fab - thanks for the tutorial! :o)
For the longest time, I turned my Fiskar's border punches upside-down to punch, until I realized that the guides were there for a reason! :-/
Now I use border punches all the time. My fave is Upper Crest, but Fiskars really got me using punches again after I figured out how to use them correctly!

And you cannot beat Fiskars' customer service. Have a problem call or e-mail. If they can't help you fix it-they'll replace it and they do it quick. No waiting for months for your problem to be solved. I somehow lost the spring in my fingertip micro scissors. I e-mailed to see if I could buy a few springs. They sent me 10 @ no cost. They are just fantastic.

Fiskars makes the best punches!
I always start mine from the edge using one of the lines as a starting guide. I'll have to try your way & see which I like the best.

This is hilarious to me that you did this! I totally had to be taught how to use my border punches properly about a year ago... and I felt like such an idiot that I didn't bother figuring it out on my own. I had just started using it (backwards, making it more difficult than it needed to be) and THANKFULLY a friend saw me practicing my goofy technique at a crop and showed me the real way to use it. So funny! Great tutorial! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I know I use my border punches a lot more now (and I purchase more of them) because I now know how to properly use them. :)

I have never tried a Fiskars border punch, but I have other punches of theirs that I LOVE! i would love to try this.
