My Minds Eye Lost and Found : Day 3 Market Street

{Reported by Sharyn Tormanen}

I'm a huge HUGE fan of My Minds Eye, but I am Not a fan of glitter. I opened this particular package with apprehension. Everything is glittered, and I mean everything. I had to actually set it aside for a few days. That's unheard of.

On a nice sunny day - I opened the package. Outside. I shook out all the glitter, wiped down each paper individually to get off as much excess as I could, and did a little happy jig when I saw the non-glittered sides of the paper. There was the My Minds Eye that I love!

And then I played.

Oh - and I have the most glittery patio furniture this side of the Mississippi. Fact.

What I liked:
1. I loved the back side patterns
2. I love the packaging - I used several pieces in my creations. When packaging doubles as something I can use, that's a bonus for sure.
3. I loved the variety of ribbon colors and styles

What I didn't like:
1. The glitter. There was just too much, it was messy.
2. The tear tab on top of the scallop paper did not tear off. I had to cut it off which made for an unclean scallop

What I made:

Brian Bunny Layout

I had a lot of fun with this layout. I loved mixing the patterns a bit. I free cut the tree from two different patterns and used another for the bird.

This is one project that I also used the packaging for - the ribbon tag worked perfectly to make a pull flap for behind the photo journaling. I loved also how it was shaped like a house, I wanted to use it twice.

Gran layout
With the Gran layout I had fun bringing in some of the fun ribbon, and using the spot on the polka dotted paper for journaling. There were so many possible uses for that spot - title, journaling, embellishment, photo - love that.

And then, because I can never escape the card making urge

A set of cards

This time of the year I really get into making sets of cards. I give them to the grandmothers and teachers for holiday gifts and they are always well received. This set is going to be particularly fun to give!

I'm a B-side kind of girl, too... and I think I have to agree with you on the glitter. I like a little bit, but if it gets messy, I shy away. However, the colors in this collection are so pretty and I love the subtle patterns.

I'm glad to hear you can get rid of most of the glitter. I'm not a huge glitterfan either, but I love the embellishments that come with this line!

I agree on the excess glitter but I have to say that the ribbon packs and the pre-cut banner mini's have me drooling.

I haven't worked with that many glittery products, so I have to chuckle at your patio furniture comment. :) But everything I've seen of MME's line looks lovely, and I do admire your projects too. (Those cards will be treasured - and useful - gifts!)
