Scrapbooking Everyday Memories; Creating Keepsakes Special Issue

{Reported by Kimberly Crawford}

What it is:

Scrapbooking Everyday Memories is a special issue from Creating Keepsakes Magazine. I have to be honest, when I saw the title, I though, meh. See, I already scrap this way. Birthdays, Christmas, and all those photos are in piles, sitting, left unscrapped. Its the everyday moments of our lives that I love to scrap. There was no way that this issue was going to inspire me. I was wrong.

I read through the magazine with a notebook and a pen. There are 10 chapters in this issue, all on a different topic of our everyday lives. Under each chapter, I wrote down all the ideas that never occured to me to scrap. And maybe it wasn't the layouts exactly, but the ideas sure got me thinking! I need to take more photos just to scrap all the things that need documenting. :)

What I liked:
1. The organization of the chapters. Each chapter has a mini album idea at the end.
2. The issue is full of tips and sketches. Gotta love those.
3. They scrapped REAL photos! There is clutter in the backgrounds, messy rooms, the real things of life. This is how I live. And its ok to scrap that! Thank you!

What I disliked:
1. Some of the ideas are pretty obvious, if you scrap regularly.
2. The price is a little high, but I am good at finding coupons for inspiration. :)

What I made:

Inspired by Chapter One: Your Routines
Scrapping this has been on my to-do list for quite sometime. Since the little man was practically born, we have sung the same songs before nap and before bed. In fact, he was checking my list while I was writing the journaling, to be sure I had it right. :)

Supplies: Stamps-Mint Motif (School Basics, I've Got Your Number), Patterned paper-Cosmo Cricket (Joy Ride-Are We There Yet, Round About), Cardstock-Core'dinations, Papertrey Ink, Ink-Palette (Terra Cotta Tile, Water Lily, L'Amour), Thickers-American Crafts

Where and How Much:
Product Name: Scrapbooking Everyday Memories

I love scrapping the everyday moments. This is how I started, and how I'll end in scrapbooking. I saw this magazine at the newsstand the other day, and even though I already do this, I love to look at the LOs and be inspired by everything in the mag, so I will be asking Santa Claus for this product this year. I just love everything from CK, so I'm sure I'll be happy to receive this :)

I mostly scrap those everyday moments but more ideas and inspiration are always welcome. I'd love to win this. We don't really have any inspiration magazines here in Germany and I love getting new directions so it would be a real treat for me. Thanks for the chance to win.

I would love to have this book. I have always been more of an "event" scrapper. I love the idea of "everyday" scrapping and would love a little nudge to help me along.

I should like to see this magazine, because I mostly scrap holidays, walking, birthdays: the obvious things in our life. I hope to get new ideas of it. Here in Holland it is difficult to buy a copy, so I would love to win one.

This magazine looks fabulous!!! I think it is so important to scrap everyday moments. We tend to forget about the little things or the sad moments and always seem to capture happy and special times. I have been trying to document more of those everyday moments but sometimes its hard.

I do scrap everyday moments...with all the clutter in the background.. I know sometimes it's fun to see my old pics and see something i remember in the background, so I leave those in there!! I LOVE your layout..and that he checked your list...too cute!! I probably wouldn't have thought I'd use this book either, so it was good to see your review!!

I LOVE when I see pages or journals filled with everyday moments! I have yet to start--maybe this can be my new 2011 goal:)

In the past I've very much been an event scrapper, but I'm trying, really trying, to move past that. I really want to document the things that my kids will remember most, the things that aren't a part of some annual event, but the stories of our lives. So, I'd love to see what ideas this book has to help me out. And of and sketches never hurt, either! Thanks for the chance.

I'm all for inspiration, ideas, hints, help- anything that gets me scrapping more! I tend to scrap events and not life. Maybe this would help to change that.

I scrapbook mostly events but this year I started the photo a day concept. I would be interested in layout ideas for all the everyday moments.

I'm getting better about scrapping everyday moments, but I'm still mostly an events scrapper. I could use the inspiration. Thanks for the chance to win!

When Becky Higggins created P365 it really inspired me to be more aware of the everyday. While I didn't participate in her exact project, I make decisions to scrap everyday moments, memories, details etc. I've found it really breaks up the other, more traditional, pages.
