Canvas Corp

{reported by: Shelley Haganman}

I had the pleasure of receiving some incredible products from Canvas Corp to review for you. Canvas Corp was created in 2006 "to bridge the gap between hardware, home decor, and crafts". Ok... I will be quite honest and tell you that they "had" me at hardware!! This company uses recycled materials, minimal packaging, reusable containers and natural products which is very cool. But beyond these details I am going to say that Canvas Corp is just the company I have been looking for. I love all the canvas and natural textiles they have. They offer to you the customer a foundation to start with and build on with their incredible products. You can choose between stretched canvas/burlap/denim, as well as flat items in the same materials (fabric shapes, home decor blanks, decorative hardware, and natural rope and cords). Beyond fabric and natural textile items this company offers paper products as well. Chalk stock, cork stock, round paper collection, clocks and calendars, and note cards to name a few!! They also have tools to manipulate their products. My heart is beating a mile a minute just telling you about these incredible things. My dream of fusing funky, cool materials is a reality! You can visit them at their blog. Their website/shopping site is currently under construction.

Ease of use: I played with the burlap stretched canvas, chalk stock, canvas sheet and tags, as well as the paper and I simply loved working with them all. I hand stitched onto the burlap and canvas with ease and I used some fun liquid chalk on the chalk stock. So many possibilities with these products. I also did tea dye some canvas and it looks incredible for that aged look!

Construction/Durability: Again I had great results with all these products. I really love the look of frayed edges and unraveling and this could easily be accomplished with these items. These materials were easily manipulated and I loved using them in my projects.

Usefulness: Are you kidding me!! My mind is still racing with ALL kinds of ideas on what I want to make next!!!! If you are looking to make some unique and quirky projects these products are for you too!

What I liked: Well......EVERYTHING! Seriously, I HAD to stop myself at three projects to make for this review. I was so inspired by the products and that means a lot to me. I love the infusion of nontraditional items and the natural feel and look of these products. I am big into altering and making something unique so this company's products were ideal for me!

What I didn't like: To be quite honest....nothing!

What I made:

Like I said earlier, it was very hard to stop at three projects. I was very inspired to create what I did and with the leftover products I will continue to make more projects.

Metal tray Calendar/To do magnetic board:

I placed magnets on back of small canvas with numbers and behind the burlap stars! And wrote with a liquid chalk pen onto chalk stock to spell the month and date.

Canvas Corp: burlap stars, kraft and black paper, cord, chalk stock paper), old vintage tray, vintage lace trim, liquid chalk, magnets, milk caps, clothespins, old spool.

Family (accordion) album:

Canvas Corp (stretched burlap x2 to make the "book", chalk stock, canvas fabric page, burlap star)

Here I stamped onto the canvas page! And wrote on the chalk stock with the liquid chalk to personalize my album. Hand stitching on the burlap cover as well.

Canvas and upholstery no sew fabric pillow:

Canvas Corp Canvas Fabric page, burlap tag.

Your projects are DARLING and I think that canvas/burlap are the next big things that are going to make it into crafting. Thank you so much for sharing about this company!

Ouuu!!! I'm not entirely sure that I would have seen the possibilities without your wonderful creations!

Love that chalkboard and mini album especially!

I can't wait to get a closer look at what the company is offering (minimum packaging is a BONUS)!

Hmm. I love canvas. I've got canvas albums and canvas embellies and a canvas bunting banner that I can't figure out what to do with but love b/c it is so cute and now here's more canvas. Really. What's a canvas-loving girl to do?!? and that "home" pillow? Could that BE any cuter?!?

I have got to get me some chalk stock and liquid chalk! Such cool products. And I love working with canvas because before really getting into stamping, I was a sewer! So it comes naturally to me to incorporate fabric in my paper crafting.
