Paper Smooches - Photopolymer Stamps

{Reported by Karen Desmet}

Paper Smooches stamps are created by a stamper for the stamper. The creater behind this adorable line of photopolymer stamps is Kim Hughes. After working for a stamp company and being approached by many other companies, Kim decided to bring her designs and talents directly to the stamper. All of Kim's stamp designs reflect her silly personality and she hopes these designs bring a smile to those that ink them up! She has said, "Think of "Paper Smooches" as using ink to kiss your paper with our clear stamps!"

All Paper Smooches stamps are clear, high quality photopolymer images and are MADE IN THE USA! These stamps are very easy to use - you just peel the stamp from the clear sheet that it is packaged on, adhere to an acrylic block and press the image into ink and onto paper! It is that easy!

While the stamps are available to buy as individual stamps, Paper Smooches also offers a 6 and 12 month membership club. The club provides members 3 sets of stamps a month prior to release to the public AND a shopping discount! Currently there are a dozen different sets available on the Paper Smooches website with 3 new sets being released every month. You'll also find downloadable templates that fit perfectly with the stamp sets.

All projects below feature the Perky Plants set:

but, I had to share another ADORABLE set that Paper Smooches has to offer-

Chubby Chums:

Check out the Paper Smooches shop to see all the other wonderful designs.

What I like:
-All stamps are mounted on a design indexed transparent sheet and sold in a hang bag. This makes storage of the stamps very easy.
-The images are nicely sized and are easy to color in using markers, paints, pencils, etc.
-They are made in the USA!!

What I didn't like:
-The stamp set had a very strong plastic scent when taken out of the package and I couldn't use them immediately. After being left out of the package, the smell diminished.
-They are cutesy (but that is my problem!!)
-The retail price of these sets seems high when compared to other manufacturers, but these images are made in the USA and Paper Smooches is a small manufacturer.

What I made:
When I shop or am attracted to stamp images, they are usually vintage inspired. These images became a fun challenge for me because they are sweet and cute. My daughter fell in love with the cute flowers and it was just natural to make her a cute charm necklace. I stamped and colored in the images using Smooch Inks (no relation to Paper Smooches stamps). Each image was stamped onto a instant shrink plastic and then heated. The final image shrunk down to about 1/4th of the original size:

Materials Used: Paper Smooches (Perky Plants), Staz On Black ink, Grafix Shrink Film, Smooch Accent Ink, assorted jewelry findings and beads

Our family has started growing flowers from seeds over the past few weeks and have quite a few seeds left over. These images helped create a perfect "seed gifting" card:
Materials Used: Paper Smooches stamps (Perky Plants), Staz On ink, assorted markers, Stickles, American Craft ribbon, glassine envelope, Stampin' Up cardstock, vellum and colored cardstock

Gift bag perfect for spring parties, teacher's gifts or just because! I used watercolor pencils on this bag to create blended colors on the image:
Materials Used: Paper Smooches (Perky Plants), Staz On ink, Stampin' Up watercolor pencils and blending water pen, Stampin' Up cardstock, white lunch bag and misc. ribbon

I love journals and love making book marks. This simple journal was colored in with Sharpie Markers and a domino was stamped, colored and sealed. The domino was added to a ribbon to create a perfect bookmark for this simple journal.
Materials Used: Paper Smooches (Perky Plants), Sharpie markers, Moleskin journal, ribbon, domino

I love cutesy so I don't have that problem! I think they are good quality stamps so I don't mind the extra price.
