Ruby Rock-It Nostalgia

{Reported by Paula Gilarde}

Ruby Rock-It is an Australian scrapbook manufacturer. The brand focuses on vintage style papers and richly textured embellishments. Living up to their focus, the Nostalgia line is full of vintagy-themed patterns, old-style sewing notions, seed packets, labels, tickets etc. So much so that a lot of the patterns seemed very familiar e.g. the spools, the cathedral window pattern, tickets, and quilted papers. That said, the colors are wonderful in this line, there a nice mix which makes them usable for many different projects and themes. The line includes patterned papers, a sticker sheet with 3 tiny alphas, sticker shapes, a large and varied selection of chipboard shapes, borders, flowers and paper floss

What I liked:
-The papers came in two different weights - cardstock and lighter. I thought this was quite clever and refreshing.
-As I mentioned above the color palette makes the line very versatile.
-The chipboard shapes made this line for me - I loved the variety!

What I disliked:
-I didn't really care for the gold foiling on the embellishements - the stickers and borders had a lot of gold throughout.
-The tiny letters on the sticker sheet (on which there were three alphas - bonus!) popped off a bit too easily, making them easy to lose.
-I would have liked a larger alpha also.

What I made:
I made a layout using the paper, chipboard shapes, border stickers, cardstock stickers and paper floss.

I also made a card using the "Quilt" sheet. I cut the paper to card size and stitched over the "seams" with my sewing machine.

Finally, I made an accordion mini-album, This came together so easily using the "Tokens" sheet of patterned paper and stickers.

I'm always interested in an unfamiliar company - once upon a time I'd never heard of Crate Paper or October Afternoon, after all! And anything with a retro vibe usually finds its way into my stash!

Gorgeous projects and I've been wanting to get some product by this company in my hands SO badly! I first discovered them by accident when I stumbled onto them while blog surfing last year.. Instantly fell in love but sadly most of the products that I saw wasn't been sold anymore... Thank you for such a wonderful giveaway!

Looks like you did a lot with only 1 line! Really like your slushy layout.

Love what you did with this collection and it looks like something that could be used for a lot of things....scrapbook layouts, cards, even ATC's! I love anything vintage or retro so this would be something I would like to try!

Wow, as soon as I saw that Bingo card I wanted this! I love the colors they used....neutral enough to go with everything! Not sure about the foil stuff either, but that would make me become more creative!
