Bo Bunny Detour Collection

{Reported by Liz Hicks}

Hey everyone! Liz Here.

I have to say that I am definitely more of a painty inky girl... so when I was told that my next review would be a paper line... my heart sank a bit... That is until I opened this box of lovelies! How could I not fall in love?

Bo Bunny Detour Collection is a travel themed collection that has warm tones to it. Denim blue, rusty reds and warm creams and Ochres are typically not the colors I go for when crafting... but that has never stopped me :) I was bound and determined to get over my norm and create, and I am so glad I did because this collection was a lot of fun to play with.

This product collection offers a variety of paper sizes and selections as well as stickers, chip board elements, brads and rub-ons and a TON of embellishments... This collection has it all. Bo Bunny did a great job of creating a lot of fun embellishments with this collection.

What I Liked:
-I LOVE the amazing variety that this collection offers
-I also LOVE the options of patterns and solids in the papers.
- The stamp set for this collection is AWESOME.. I think I used it on every project.
- I Also love the fact that although this is a travel collection, it is so versatile...

What I didn't like:
- Like I said, the color variety is not my necessary go to when creating, but I quickly got over it... this collection was way to much fun to pass up and I HIGHLY recommend it... the collection as a whole is amazing and the variety of uses is very hard to find in a collection.

You're Home- (Simple 4x6 card)

This card was super easy to create. I made it in less than 5 minutes. Simple, quick and easy.

 Rock On! (Scrapbook Layout 12x12)

This layout again, was fairly easy to create. The variety of the elements of this collection work so well together and actually assist with making your project come together quickly.

Our Three (BO Bunny Mini Album- Altered)

This Album cover is junked up and full of texture.  Using the varying elements of the collection from the stamps to the embellishments, altogether the textures add up to create a fun album cover.

Inside Page

Again, a few fun pictures of an inside page that shows you this fun album and the possibilities that come with it!

These projects are a few of my favorite. I am really glad that I worked with a paper line this review because it reminds me of all of the fun a scrapbook paper line can be. I wanted to try and use the collection for something other than travel, and I think I did that :)

Where and How Much:
Product: Bo Bunny Detour Collection
Manufacturer: Bo Bunny
MSRP: $.80- $18.99
Available at: Scrapbook.com, Oh MY Crafts, A Cherry On Top

Overall, I would use this collection again (and again...and again!) This collection is GREAT if you have boys or even for family or heritage projects. I also love all of the elements to this collection, I am sure you will love them too!

What do you think? Being that this collection was not my preffered color choice, I was able to see beyond that and have a ton of fun with this collection. Has this ever happened to you? What would you create with this collection?  Leave a comment by midnight EST on Thursday to be entered to win a prize pack from Bo Bunny!!  U.S. residents only and be sure to leave a way to contact you if you win!

Great line! We did a lot of traveling this summer so this line would be perfect, and I agree, Bo Bunny does a great job with embellishments!

I missed this line when perusing all of the new CHA stuff. I love how you used it for non travel related subjects. So glad you brought this to my attention! Looks like a must have!!

It looks like such a great line to work with! I have bought a paper line and the true to live colors didn't stand up to what I saw online but over all I loved the collection and used it literally to pieces!

I love anything BoBunny. I think I have some of every line they had put out. I love the album you made. I would make a mini book out of this line for a trip I am about to take.

Very cool! I'd seen this Bo Bunny line before, but not the stamps - love stamp sets that coordinate with a collection!
I'd make lots of family layouts with this line. I especially need to work on my kids' school albums (their theme a couple of years ago was "destination: success" - how perfect would this be?). And these travel images work well for vacation pages (still need to scrap our vacations these past couple of summers!), as well as my son's sports pages. I do enjoy a line that's more "boy", because although I have a daughter too, I find more masculine colors work well for documenting our whole family.

Thanks for your cool samples, and thanks for the chance to win!

I'm with you Liz. I would have definitely passed on this one. Not my color scheme. However, now that you've done these wonderful projects I'm thinking a travel mini would be great! I've got pics from a weekend getaway with DH that I need to scrap and this would be great!

Thanks for the chance to win!

I love your layout! I love blue in any shade so this color scheme is definitely for me. It also helps that I have boys to create for as well.

I have had this experience as well, and I have always found that when I work outside my comfort zone, it turns out to be a great experience. I make things I never would have thought I could.

If I am lucky enough to win this Bo Bunny prize I would use it in various ways, from card making to scrapbooking, to my art journal and on canvas with my multi media projects.

Thank you for the chance to enter!

Wow! You certainly did this lone justice! Travel themes are not my favorite but I love how you made it work outside of that. I'd likely create some "boy" scrapbook pages with this. A fun collection!

I find that even if I am not jazzed about a particular color pallete once I start playing with it and creating with it I start liking it.

I Love anything Bo Bunny, this is a must for me. We try to do one big vacation a year, and I have a hard time finding stuff I like.

I love this color combination. I have daughters and nieces, but I get tired of using traditional girl colors and find that using the blues and blacks with some red thrown in is pleasing. I would use the Detour collection to make travel mini books/decor for my sister who really is a world traveler, having visited all 7 continents.

I actually love just about every color there is, so I've never gotten colors I don't like. But if I did, I would use other colors to tone down the colors I don't care for.
