Fan TAN bulous!

By: Erika Hayes

WHAT it is: Fan-TAN-ulous! That is the best one-word description I can give for the new Amy Tan Line Ready, Set Go from American Crafts. I started working with this product and realized how quickly and easily all the elements come together. The paper and embellishments are so cohesive it is almost like you can seriously put anything together and be successful. The quality is top-notch and American Crafts delivers again with great embellishments. One of the things I really liked was the idea of putting THREE of the little day books together in one package, it was nice to have all the styles in one package. The three daybooks gave me a fun idea for creating what I am calling a “flip-journals”. (see below). I just love when just the product gets your creative juice flowing.

What I liked: Oh I love the whole line! Amy has a way of creating just the right look that works with every style. My favorite thing was the little date stampers (really look how cute on my Bamboo layout as well as the journal flip book). The paper is great quality (par for the course) and the designs are very versatile and let's just say it... fan TAN bulous-- Amy has hit yet another homerun. I also like adore no...I LOVE that the little daybooks come in 3 packs, and have so many uses. The textures are all great and lots of choices.

What I disliked: Sorry but some of the thickers still need a little extra adhesive. It really isn’t a big deal but it can be frustrating when your “I” falls off!

I have a kit to make an art journal - but still haven't gotten around to it. Of course...I got it right before moving, and we are still settling in, so that might be the problem! I really want to do that someday though - they look super fun!!! LOVE the projects you did today!!!

I am loving the splash of yellow in this line. Amy has a wonderful way of designing her lines and once again this line is a must have.

I really agree about the Thickers needing more adhesive! I really want this whole line!

I love using the little books to plan vacations and for storing trip coupons. I so agree with you on the thickers and adhesives-it's so frustrating. I have started running them through my sticker Xyron and that helps.

I love Amy Tan's style. The papers are so fabulous in this line. I have the same problem with a different set of Thickers I just used. i had to put extra adhesive after losing a letter from my layout.

I am a list-maker and I jot down notes everyday wherever I go so using the cute mini sketchbooks would be convenient, and it's cute so I'd be happy each time I use it, and it would be something I'd incorporate into my scrapbooks, and not just throw away. Maybe one day, my kids will like to read what mom was thinking and doing back in 2012!

Love this new line, and those minis are so cute, could be used for anything from jotting down crazy kids' quotes to making lists, to making an actual mini album. Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!

I've just started keeping a notebook by my computer to jot down inspiration as I see it. These would be a lot more fun to use than what I've got!

I love this line! I could totally see myself using the mini sketch book as just that... a sketch book to keep in my purse or beside my bed for those great ideas that arrive at mildly inconvenient times! :)

I think Amy Tan really found a great niche in the market with her minis. They're all cute and the coordinating products really make them shine. If I won, I know I'd probably take one along with me during vacation or to capture everyday moments. I used to do that when my kids were young, but have gotten out of the habit.
I LOVE Amy's fun style and bright colors for all of her collections thus far. Ready, Set, Go is my favorite yet! Thanks for the chance to win!

I was thinking of getting a couple of these daybooks for my sisters who are exploring paper crafting now that they are in high school.

Very fun ideas! And while I am not usually on the Tan-wagon (the Amy Tan band-wagon.. since you were playing with her name I thought I would too!), I really like this one! I got another one of those date stamps from AC and totally loved it! This line looks like a lot of fun!

i love to pop little mini's into my kids' backpacks. If they need a little smile or are missing Mom they can flip through quickly and smile at fun memories we have had.

Love Amy Tangerine and AC but I do agree about the Thickers, I dislike that I have to add extra glue every time.
