My Mind's Eye - Collectable

{Reported by Noel Culbertson}

My Mind's Eye has been one of my consistent favorites over the years. Their designs are always classy and endlessly useable. The cardstock has a lovely texture, and the embellishments are comprehensive and varied enough to be applied to many different layout themes.

What I liked:
- Great combinations of colors and prints. The card stock has a nice mix of darks and lights providing contrast and depth on layouts.
- The loads of brads, stickers and chipboard elements add a slew of embellishing options. I especially liked the tiny word stickers for that extra added bit of fun.
- Matching 6x6 paper packs for smaller prints and card making to add to the usability of the line.
- Decorative topped pins and washi tape coordinating with each set are a great touch.

What I disliked:

- I would love to see coordinating chipboard alphabets to add to the greatness of this line.

I agree- it would be awesome to see some alphas from MME... Their collections are so fabulous already, and that would be the icing on the cake. :)

I'm not sure that I'm ever too creative with my embellishments... sometimes I'll alter a title by putting my own over the printed text but leaving the outer frame... and I love to "sprinkle" brads along my pages like I would rhinestones, etc.

These are LOVELY!!! I agree that the alphas would be fun, but the colors in this are beautiful and I know they would go with a lot of the ones I already have! I especially LOVe the "Story" Journal Paper!

Their patterns are so lovely!! And I love die cuts - you can layer them, use them on cards, pop them up with dots for extra dimension... just great!

I agree MME needs alphas! Thickers just don't come int he right colors some times :)

As for embellishments, I am not SUPER creative. But I have used washi to make flowers, and I have used die cuts on banners and to make minis before.

The whole collectable line is awesome. Great mix of the feminine and masculine. The most creative I get with my embelishments is washi tape or mini stickers on cards. Kinda boring-I know. Thanks for the chance to win.

love your layouts! i have been trying to be creative with embellishments & other elements that are not typical scrapbooking items, like packaging, magazine cutouts, etc.

MME is one of my faves too. They consistently put out lines that make it to my must have list. I love to use their washi tape because of it's patterns and love to use it to create borders for my layout.

Beautiful pages, I love MME, always a great mix of colors and patterns. I like to take my embellishments and mix them together to make new ones - combine brads with crocheted flowers, stack embellishments, etc.

I love the honeycomb paper!

I like to use old chipboard alphas and distress them then add inks and paints to them.

Sorry, no new creative ideas here, sigh. But I love this collection...I hope if I win, I actually use it. I have a problem hoarding MME.

Why yes, I do love Collectable! MME always amazes me - not only with the sheer SIZE of their collections, but also with the quality and attention to detail in every product.
Lately, I've been creating a lot of banners with the embellishments you mention - washi tape, brads, chipboard, stickers, etc. - on my projects...it's fun to mix and match and "hang" things from the banners in different groupings.

Thanks for the review, and thanks for sharing your always-fabulous pages with us!

Love the hexagons and pages that you can cut stuff out from. As far as my creative way of using embellishments I like to paint chipboard and then add bling and flowers to it. Thanks for the chance to win!

I love these, Noel! I think MME needs some larger chipboard alphas, too.
I like to layer my embellies to give them a little more oomph. :)

My jewelry box was overflowing and I wanted a way to hang my earrings so I could see them all. So, I hung a piece of long wide ribbon from my scrapbook stash on the wall. I chose a lightweight ribbon. The earring poke through easily. Not only does it look beautiful in the bathroom, now I can see all my earrings easily. Thanks for the chance to win!

Lovely layouts. I am only beginning to love washi, but I am lining envelopes with it, making them a bit more interesting. Nothing drastic!
