Review Follow Up- My Mind's Eye Stamps

{Reported by Ashley Harris}

Welcome back!  Today I have the great pleasure of doing a follow up review.   A while back you may remember I reported a My Mind's Eye collection called Indie Chic.  You can read the review HERE.

This is what I wrote in regards to their clear stamps:

What I didn't like:
-Okay I have one complaint.  Just one.  The stamps.  I love the designs, but the quality isn't the best.  They get the job done, but I would like to see these wonderful images in a better quality clear stamp.

The stamps were my only complaint.  After the review was posted, My Mind's Eye contacted me and asked me what they could do better with their stamps.  I told them what I thought and that was that.  Honestly, I hadn't purchased another stamp set from them in a long while.   While cropping at my fave scrapbook store a few weeks ago, I happened upon the My Mind's Eye section and looked at their stamps.  I thought, "I wonder if they listened?"  So I purchased the Today set that goes with the Collectable collection.

Here is my process of determining the quality of a clear stamp.

-First:  I open the package and take a whiff.  Yes, I smell the stamps.  All you stampers out there know what I am talking about.  A good quality clear stamp has a distinct smell.  Well these stamps had it.  (I'm getting tingly!)

-Second:  I feel the stamps.  Another major tell tale sign of a good clear stamp is if it is firm or not.   The stamps I had previously reviewed were mushy.  It felt as if I pulled hard it would rip in two.  Not good.  The Today stamps were good and firm.  AWESOME!!

-Lastly:  The impression.   Well duh!  I mean a good impression is definitely what makes the stamp.  So I busted them out and went to it.  HAPPINESS!!

A huge bonus is the price point.  The old set retailed at $5.99.   The new and improved stamp set is $6.99.  FABULOUS!

So here is a card I made with the stamps.

Supplies:  Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Clear Stamps: My Mind's Eye; Dye Ink: Close To My Heart, Memento; Ribbon: Misc.

I used the foral image to make the background and then stamped the sentiment.  Super easy!

This is why we have this site.  Not only to help you as the consumer, but to help the manufacturer improve their products.  I love it when that happens!!

Bottom Line:  Go buy them.  They are great quality and at a fantastic price.  Enjoy!!

Where and How Much:
Product:  Clear Stamps
Manufacturer:  My Mind's Eye
MSRP:  $6.99
Available Online:  Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp!, Emma's Paperie

Fantastic! It's good to know that an improvement happened because of your input and that it really turned into a win-win for everyone! MME is one of my favorite manufacturers so it's good to know that I can count on them to want to improve and listen when there's a problem! Thanks so much for sharing!

As a "stamp snob" myself, I,listen when you have concerns about the quality of a stamp. It is so good to know that MME listened and made the appropriate improvements and also didn't hike the price sky high! Thanks for the update, now I will consider buying these.

Very nice card!! I had to look back at the set to see which one you'd used - brilliant! :)

I have several sets of MME stamps because of their price, and have enjoyed their quality (for the price), glad to know they'll be even better now! :)
